E is for enjoying myself.
On Saturday 5th May, I went to the Army Vs Navy rugby at Twickenham. I had to try really hard to get the Saturday off of work and I’m so grateful to our Reception Supervisor for helping it to happen.
I really just wanted to have some fun and I’ve been working so hard that I think I deserved to enjoy myself. So my self-care was a reward from me, to me, for how hard I’ve been working.
There were several losses on the day, the Navy lost, but also, Twickenham Stadium lost power. It’s one of those days where everyone is in a good mood and is just a really fun day out so it didn’t spoil anyone’s mood.
I got to spend the day with Josh, we had a laugh with his brother and dad, so everyone was in a really good mood and I just really enjoyed myself, particularly in the sun!
If I could go back and have a chat with myself, these would be my tips for surviving Saturday’s Army/Navy rugby:
- Take a portable charger for your phone
- Don’t forget your sunglasses
- Don’t break the seal too early
- Drink more water
- Do not try Crabbie’s Alcoholic Ginger Beer in Scottish Raspberry – it isn’t nice
- Remind Twickenham Stadium to pay their electricity bill
